Synthesizing stylesheets using “Literate XSLT”

G. Ken Holman

Abstract

Using the Literate XSLT environment one can annotate a sample result of transformation to describe the source of information from which the result is created. From this seeded result file, an XSLT stylesheet can be synthesized and then applied to other source documents in order to produce a set of results corresponding to the inputs. An additional validation step can ensure the XPath location path match expressions in the annotations correspond to actual paths available in the source documents. The environment is illustrated using the stylesheets that were synthesized using Literate XSLT and delivered for the 0p70 release of UBL.
