Abstract

Just as a human cyborg is enhanced by specialized biomechanical systems, an XML cyborg is a software system accelerated by hardware devices implementing XML processing in silicon. This paper looks at how the Java open-source toolkit for document Web Services, DocSOAP XDK, Xerces, and the Tarari XML CP PCI card are used to create Extreme XML Web Services. The paper will examine how XML Cyborgs will influence the ongoing evolution of XML technology and Web Services.
