XML Query Update: state of publicly available implementations

Liam Quin

Abstract

XML Query is not yet a W3C Recommendation, so in a sense there are zero implementations. In practice people have implemented working drafts, but this leads to incompatibilities. Pragmatic questions include “are these early implementations good enough to use?” and, ‘What, if anything, can you do with them?’ This talk describes some of the XML Query implementations and gives examples of how you might use them. It focuses on software you can use today, but also mentions upcoming work, both open source and proprietary.
